THIS FALL, HARVEST NATURE'S BEAUTY

You have to take care of your skin in the Fall! Autumn brings chilly winds, and as a result - dryer skin.

As you're carving your jack-o-lantern this year - keep the pumpkin pulp! Pumpkin is rich in antioxidant vitamins A & C, as well as zinc - and contains super-beneficial alpha-hydroxy acids. Nourish your skin naturally - and slough off dead skin cells.

PUMPKIN TREATS:

Pumpkin Facial
INGREDIENTS:

* 2 teaspoons (cooked or canned) pumpkin
* 1/2 teaspoon honey
* 1/4 teaspoon milk (or heavy cream, if your skin is super dry)

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Mix all ingredients together, and apply to a clean face with gentle circular motions, avoiding the area around your eyes.
2. Allow mask to remain on skin for 10 to 15 minutes (RELAX!), then rinse with warm water, pat dry, and apply your usual moisturizer.

Pumpkin Scrub
INGREDIENTS:

* 1/2 cup cooked or canned pumpkin, pureed
* 1/2 cup brown sugar
* 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Combine ingredients in a bowl - HOW EASY!
2. Scoop some of the mixture and apply to body, starting with your feet and working your way up, but avoiding your face. Scrub gently using circular motions.
3. Rinse with warm water and pat dry.

Calling All Curly Girls!

Well, Summer is wrapping up - and with the Texas heat, swimming and all of the outdoor fun your hair might be feeling a little glum.

Here are a few of my tips, to RECHARGE your beautiful curls.

HAIR FACT:
Curly hair tends to be on the dry side.. meaning - it's dehydrated. The hair is a naturally porous material, so when it's dry, it will pull in moisture from the environment. This results in the 'grow factor' (you Curly-Girls know what I mean...) your hair goes WIDE and FRIZZY as the day goes on.

HAIR TIPS:

Start with a consultation with one of our stylists about the condition of your particular hair type. Everyone is different!
Condition, condition, condition - cleanse less and condition more!
If your hair is severely dehydrated, add a mask (once a week) to your hair care arsenal - it will help bring your curls back from the brink!

If you're nice to your curls, you'll turn heads wherever you go. (and in a GOOD way!)

Frinj Salon & Spa offers several conditioning treatments, and have a great selection of take-home product to restore, revitalize and maintain the curls you were meant to have.

XOXO, Casey
